As the skin care industry continues to grow, a wide range of treatments designed to give you younger looking skin are recently emerging. Here are the most common, what advantages they have and how much they cost us.

Microneedling

Microneedling involves applying a thin needle roller or a pen-like device to the skin, in order to release a multitude of tiny tears, in order to stimulate the subsequent healing process by increasing collagen production.  It is therefore a treatment that tightens and smoothes any wrinkles or signs of aging, stimulating a natural response. A professional Microneedling treatment normally requires four to six sessions for maximum effect, at a cost of approximately $ 400- $ 700 each. If you opt for home microneedling kits instead, prices are between $ 20 to over $ 100. For the use of the home kit, we recommend talking to a dermatologist.

PRP (Platelet-rich plasma)

PRP, or platelet rich plasma therapy, is a treatment used so far on injured tendons, but which is now finding success applied to the skin. A blood sample is taken, from which plasma and platelets are then extracted to obtain a PRP concentrate; this substance is subsequently injected into the skin, to promote collagen production. It helps to get rid of finer wrinkles, acne scars and hyperpigmentation. it costs around $ 1300. PRP is a medical therapy, therefore it is necessary to contact a medical center or a specialized dermatologist.

Radiofrequency skin tightening

Radiofrequency-based treatments perform their function by tightening the skin where it is more flaccid, through a micro-inflammatory process capable of increasing the quantity of collagen. In this case, energy is put into the layers of skin, through a portable device, to stimulate the production of collagen (the sensation is that of a hot compress) and consequently firm the skin of the whole body, not just the face. For optimal and long-lasting results, at least 6 treatments are recommended. Adding up the amount needed for the first treatments, you can spend from $ 2000 to over $ 7000.

Ultherapy

Similar to previous radiofrequency skin strengthening, ultherapy uses ultrasound technology to target the deeper layers of the skin, helping you produce more collagen, to get rid of loose skin and wrinkles. The sensation is similar to that generated by the ultrasound machines used during the pregnancy period. A treatment costs around $ 1800. Ultherapy is approved by the FDA as a non-invasive treatment for strengthening the skin and appears to be effective enough to tighten and lift facial muscles.

Chemical peel

During a chemical peel, a liquid solution is applied to the skin that removes the various external layers, to make it smoother and more youthful. Chemical peels can remove wrinkles and scars and deeper ones can also cure precancerous growths. A lighter chemical peel only starts from $ 150 to $ 400 in a beauty spa; a medical-grade peel (a medium and deeper one) may easily costs up to $ 6000.
